Basic commands used in Linux ( Compression and decompression )

In linux command line interface is the most important part. Apart from the GUI command line interface does a really good job. We can use command line interface to do many customizations in a linux environment. I hope to write as many as I can… Remember to remove the quotes in them before using .

1)   1) “bzip filename” – compresses or decompresses a file
2)    2)“tar cf targer.tar filename1 filename2 filename3” – Includes filename1, filename2, and filename3 ( as much as you like ) and make a zipped file target.tar
3)    3)“tar xf filename.tar” – Extracts files from a tar zipped file
4)    4)“tar czf target.tar.gz filename” – create a tar file with Gzip compression
5)    5)“tar xzf file.tar.gz” – extracts a tar gz zipped file
6)    6)“tar cjf target.tar.bz2 filename” –create a tar file using Bz2 compression
7)    7)“tar xjf file.tar.bz2” – Extracts a tar Bz2 compressed file
8)    8)“gzip filename” – Create compress file and rename it to filename.gz
9)    9)“gzip –d filename.gz” – Extracts filename.gz

Enough for today :)

How to mirror iPhone, iPod touch display to your TV or LCD display!

Including me, world’s most of people’s one of favorite gadget is iPhone or iPod touch. I’m using a fourth generation 32GB iPod Touch which is my partner of many day to day activities. Yes there’s something called as iPad, but isn’t it too large to carry and I don’t feel it as comfortable in hands.
One of the best features that iPad got is that video mirroring support. And the new iPhone 4S has got it too. But unfortunately Apple has not enabled that feature to old iPhones and iPod Touchs. So what is this feature actually does? As the word says its all about mirroring. That means you can see your iDevice right through your TV or LCD monitor. That means you can play your favorite games through your large displays with the accelometer sensors. If you use HD games, this is will same as a game console either. Like Xbox or PlayStation. Let’s see how to proceed….

You want these –
1)      A jailbreaked iDevice
2)      A working internet or wifi connection
3)      Apple TV out composite cable or Apple HDMI cable ( HDMI cable is the best )
4)      Willingness of making creative prospects :P

So this is the step you have to make it real –

1)      Jailbreak your iDevice if it has got no jailbreak treatment yet
2)      Open  “Cydia” app
3)      In the bottom line tap on the “Manage” icon
4)      Then your screen will show 3 tabs. Select “Sources” tab.
5)      Then on the next screen top right, tap on “Edit” and then it will show a “Add” button on top left corner. Tap it too..
6)      Then it will give you a text box to enter a URL. There type http://sinfuliphonerepo.com/ and tap on “Add Source button. It will ask you to confirm it as it’s a illegal source. That means most of softwares from that source are cracked ones. Don’t afraid. Just say yes. And it will download some data.

7)      Return back to Cydia again ( Tap bottom left corner )
8)      Go to search screen ( Tap on “Search” on bottom panel )
9)      Search for “DisplayOut  Cracked” and install it!
1         Search for “LsRotator” and install it.
11)   Activate LsRotator ( It will make your iphone display landscape mode.
12)   Connect the TV out cable to TV or HDMI to TV or either to your LCD display
13)   Enjoy :D

It’s better using a HDMI cable. Otherwise you will see pixels on the large display. Play HD games and HD videos… You are free! :D

Share files over Bluetooth via your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad! ( Celeste BT File Sharing App )

Since the day Apple Inc. released their first iDevice series they have not enabled Bluetooth file sharing facility. They have only included the audio synchronization files. That means you can only use the built in Bluetooth as a headset support.
In fact you will have to jailbreak your iDevice in order to install this app. It’a in Cydia app store.
So this app will help you to transfer any file with your iDevice. Name is “ Celeste”. Available from the BigBoss source for 9 dollars.  And your iOS version must be iOS 4.2.1 or more.

If you want to download a cracked copy for free, there is a cracked version in the “http://sinfuliphone.com” source. Download and test. I had a bug while trying to transfer a song from music player via that cracked copy. Others were fine. So go for it if you don’t want to transfer music. If you really need download the paid app. You will get a 15 day trial period. I suggest you to get the free trial and test it. Then buy or go for the cracked one.
Have fun! :D

How to downgrade Apple iOS 4.3.5 to iOS 4.3.3 without any SHSH Blobs!!

Hello there! How are you folks doing? I couldn’t update any post for a long time as I was busy with nothing but everything.. You know what I mean ;) Enough talking, let’s roll! :P

First thing I have to say is this thing worked me like a magic. You feel what I’m saying? Like a magic. I do have a iPod Touch 4G 32GB model. When I bought it came with iOS 4.2.1 ( Actually guy at the Apple store did it for me :D ) So I worked with it for a long time with no problems. One day device started to give me problems. Like there’s no icons for some apps but I can search them and use via the spotlight search. So I thought to put the iPod in to DFU ( Default Firmware Upgrade ) mode and restore it. Unfortunately I had no SHSH blobs saved and I had to upgrade to the latest firmware at that time which was iOS 4.3.5. So it gave me some weird time. Because I’m a jailbreak type person and I was fu*ked up with iOS 4.3.5 as it has no “untethered jailbreak” released yet. That means you can’t boot the device without a use of a computer.
But what to do? I had to rely on that iOS because I had no SHSH blobs saved for iOS 4.2.1. Time went, and iOS 5 released. I thought to upgrade to it and I remembered that I have to save all SHSH for iOS 4.3.5 in case of emergency. So I backed up SHSH blobs. And there are two SHSH saved. One is for iOS 4.3.5 and other is for iOS 4.3.3!!!! I still don’t know how did it happened because I never installed 4.3.3 in my iPod! However I have the both blobs in my computer now. And I was able to downgrade it to never installed iOS 4.3.3 even! The good thing in iOS 4.3.3 is it’s the last iOS that has a untethered jailbreak. That means you can switch on the device without any computer.

So I’m going to say how I did the thingy. I still don’t know how to explain the magic happened to me technologically. But I’ll tell you the steps I did. And It’s worth trying right? So try it, tell me your results.. Let’s go!

  1. Go to Cydia and search for “iSHSHIT” and install. Save SHSH from that app, export those in to your mail account and download it in to your computer. Keep them aside safely.
  2. Download and install Java runtime environment from http://www.oracle.com/ ( This needs to launch “TinyUmbrealla” software )
  3. Download the latest version of TinyUmbrella.
  4. Make a new folder, and copy all the stuff you downloaded including those SHSH files.
  5. Connect your iDevice ( ex – iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad )
  6. Close iTunes if it starts automatically
  7. Launch TinyUmbrella. Don’t worry it will download some library files when you first launch it. So remember to keep your computer connected to the internet when you going to launch TinyUmbrella.
  8. In the left panel click on your iDevice then go to the right side and click the buton “save SHSH”
  9. Then it will take about some minutes and save all SHSH files. In my case it saved both SHSH files for iOS 4.3.5 and iOS 4.3.3. Just pray before you click on the button. I’m not kiddin this worked on me.
  10. Download iOS 4.3.3 IPSW file. ( I found the direct download links from http://www.redmondpie.com/ you should go in and check in )
  11. Open the TinyUmbrella again and select the SHSH file for iOS 4.3.3 and click on the button “Start TSS Server”
  12. Put your iDevice in to DFU mode
  13. Keep TinyUmbrella running background and open iTunes. It will say that iPod is in a recovery mode and should restore before you use it.
  14. Holding the “SHIFT” button in your keyboard click on the button “Restore” in iTunes software. ( Holding “shift” will allow you to select previously downloaded iOS file. )
  15. Let the iTunes to do the rest of the process.

My one restored and restarted with no errors. And now I’m in iOS 4.3.3 I don’t know what happened exactly. I can’t explain in technology. But it happened like a magic. Just give it a try. See ya later! :D
