Both Ubuntu and Kubuntu Linux distributions supports the viewing Sinhala Language. But it does not supports for typing sinhala language. Therefore you have to use some unicode package for typing sinhala properly. SAYURA is a ideal unicode system for Sinhala language. To install sayura please follow these steps carefuly....
1) Log on to http://www.sayura.net/im
2) Download the SCIM module 0.3.3. Or you can DOWNLOAD IT HERE
3) Download the brochure. Or you can DOWNLOAD IT HERE
4) Open your terminal
5) % tar -xzvf scim-sayura-0.3.3.tar.gz
6) % cd scim-sayura-0.3.3
7) % dpkg-buildpackage -b
Now it's all done. Please restart the computer to take effect the changes done....
