Sinhala Typing for Linux Ubuntu

Both Ubuntu and Kubuntu Linux distributions supports the viewing Sinhala Language. But it does not supports for typing sinhala language. Therefore you have to use some unicode package for typing sinhala properly. SAYURA is a ideal unicode system for Sinhala language. To install sayura please follow these steps carefuly....

1) Log on to http://www.sayura.net/im

2) Download the SCIM module 0.3.3.  Or you can DOWNLOAD IT HERE

3) Download the brochure. Or you can DOWNLOAD IT HERE

4) Open your terminal

5) % tar -xzvf scim-sayura-0.3.3.tar.gz

6) % cd scim-sayura-0.3.3

7) % dpkg-buildpackage -b

Now it's all done. Please restart the computer to take effect the changes done....

Enabling Unicode support for Linux Ubuntu

If you are a linux user you may have some problems while you opening some documents and web pages in sinhala. I you are having this problem you are in the correct place to do it properly. These all are unicode related systems. So handle with care!!!

1) First open the terminal in ubuntu or konsole in kubuntu .

2) Then type sudo bash and enter your login password to computer there when promped .

3) Then type apt-get install ttf-sinhala-lklug scim scim-gtk2-immodule im-switch scim-m17n m17n-db m17n-contrib .

4) Type "y" when promped to yes or not .

5) Next type apt-get install ttf-sinhala-lklug scim scim-gtk2-immodule im-switch scim-m17n m17n-db m17n-contrib language-pack-si-base .

6) Type "y" when promped to yes or not .

7) After all downloaded and installed type " exit " .

8) Finally type rm -f ~/.xinput.d/* ; im-switch -z all_ALL -s scim-immodule

9) Then again type " exit " and restart .

You can download thousands of softwares to linux distributions. If it is a deb package it's easy ti install for even a kid. But unfortunately it's a tar file.. What would you do? Deleting it? No you have not to do it. Just follow following steps. Everything will be in happy...

1) cd (Name of the folder that contains your software)

2) ./configure

3) sudo make

4) sudo make install

5) sudo makecheck

How to unlock the LOCK CODE of Nokia mobile phones !!!

In nokia mobile phones lock code is a key to editing very high level information, original setting recovery, and even for booting of the phone. So in  a nokia phone this lock code can be the most important thing. This is will be very useful anyone who don't know the lock code or who have their lock codes in mind. I checked this stuff with a nokia 6120 classic ( a 3rd edition s60 3.1 mobile ) and for the other other phones sometimes you may read the inner help of the software please. And this is a test result and I'm not going to take any problem that caused to you. SO HANDLE WITH CARE.... These softwares aredriven smoothly in windows xp. Now let's go to the stuff. Follow the below instuctions and you will be succeeded..

1) Install nokia pc suit and let it to install the drivers and other stuff.

2) Plug off your phone from the computer

3) Download th Nemesis Service Suite 1.0.38.15. Or you can DOWNLOAD IT HERE

4) Install it. When you install it you will be asked for a installation platform to choose within a 5 platforms. I prefer to choose USB VIRTUAL DRIVE.

5) After installation open the software. And plug on your mobile to computer.

6) In the nemesis software you willl find a button "scan for new device " in the upper right corner. Click it. It will discover your phone.

7) Then click " Phone Info " on the left corner.

8) After that click "permanent memory " and then click on "READ" button. Then computer will read a variety of information in mobile and will save report on your hard disk. Path to that file will be given right after the reading is done. So open it and go down of the page. then you will find some long number..

  Eg:- 5=31313131310000000000  Now you have to do is backspace 5, =, all 3's, and all 0s.  Then it's the code. In this sample code it's 11111....

FFmpeg installing in LINUX Ubuntu 9.10...

If you are a linu distribution user such as Ubuntu and Kubuntu you may have the need to convert media files.....  In this case FFmpeg makes the big deal. It can convert all the types of media in just seconds. It's the best media convertion software for linux ditribution. To install and get the advantage of it STICK ON TO THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS....

1) Open your gnome-terminal or konsole

2) For deactivating previous settings that made by user...

   sudo apt-get remove ffmpeg x264 libx264-dev

3) To get the dependencies and system stuff...

   sudo apt-get update
   sudo apt-get install build-essential subversion git-core checkinstall yasm texi2html libfaac-dev libfaad-dev libmp3lame-dev libopencore-amrnb-dev libopencore-amrwb-dev libsdl1.2-dev libx11-dev libxfixes-dev libxvidcore4-dev zlib1g-dev

4) To get x264 and installin it...

   cd
   git clone git://git.videolan.org/x264.git
   cd x264
   ./configure
   make
   sudo checkinstall --pkgname=x264 --pkgversion "1:0.svn`date +%Y%m%d`+`git rev-list HEAD -n 1 | head -c 7`" --backup=no --default

5) To get FFmpeg....

   cd
   svn checkout svn://svn.ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg/trunk ffmpeg
   cd ffmpeg
   ./configure --enable-gpl --enable-version3 --enable-nonfree --enable-postproc --enable-pthreads --enable-libfaac --enable-libfaad --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libopencore-amrnb --enable-libopencore-amrwb --enable-libtheora --enable-libx264 --enable-libxvid --enable-x11grab
   make
   sudo checkinstall --pkgname=ffmpeg --pkgversion "4:0.5+svn`date +%Y%m%d`" --backup=no --default
   hash ffmpeg

6) Now it's all done .. Now you can do your convertions via terminal codes.. I wish to publish them also in the near future.. If you are not k with the terminal enter following code in terminal. It's a user friendly GUI for FFmpeg... Try it..

sudo apt-get install winff
